What Our Amazing Patients Say

Joanne, Banstead

FIVE STARS
I have been debating whether to take the plunge and have lip filler, not to have bigger lips, but to stave off aging and to plump them. I had seen so many disastrous looking lips, so I wanted to go to someone I could trust. She immediately put me at ease and my lips are exactly as I hoped. I highly recommend to anyone having doubts, to trust yourself in Sally's hands."

Emily, Oxted

Frequently Asked Lip Treatment Questions

What are Dermal Fillers? Dermal Fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid, which is a natural substance found in our bodies, including our skin. The hyaluronic acid has gone through a process to thicken like a gel and this is then injected to provide contour, volume or to plump lines and wrinkles. As Haluronic Acid is a natural substance our bodies accept it. Hylaluronic acid based filler scan be dissolved.

How long does it take to recover after Lip Filler treatment? Bruising and swelling are very common following lip filler treatments. Please bear this in mind when booking your appointments and consider events and social occasions. During the swelling stage, lips feel hard and lumpy, this is completely normal. As the swelling settles the lips will soften and then feel soft and natural. It takes 2-3 weeks for lips to fully heal and to gain the final result.

Who Can't Have Dermal Fillers? Sally will not carry out any cosmetic injectable procedure on any one pregnant or breastfeeding. Sally will not carry out Dermal Filler treatment if you have severe allergic reactions to wasp or bee stings. If you suffer with any auto immune disease Sally will go through a medical consultation and may require advice from your specialist. Sally has the right to refuse treatment if she does not believe that this will benefit or enhance features.

What Are the Risks of Having Dermal Fillers? Bruising and swelling are common side effects following dermal filler injections. If you suffer with cold sores, Sally will prescribe you some anti viral medication to avoid any onsets. Lumps and bumps are possible following injections. If the filler is injected superficially you will likely to feel the filler under the surface of the skin. Over the next coming weeks the filler will integrate and feel smooth. If any lumps persist that it is important to contact the practitioner. Lumps and bumps are very common immediately post lip filler treatment. This is due the the swelling and healing process. When the swelling settles, the lips will also feel softer and return to a normal feeling. If any lumps persist, it is important to contact your practitioner who will advise further. Delayed on set nodules and swelling are rare and are more thought to be associated with people who suffer from autoimmune diseases. If you are concerns about any delayed onset of lumps or swelling it is important to contact your practitioner for full assessment. If treatment is required such as dissolving filler, this will be of an additional charge. There are arteries located under the surface of the skin and in the face. If filler causes an obstruction or spasm it may prevent the blood from flowing. It is essential for blood to flow to keep the tissues perfused, in this instance it is essential to have the filler dissolved. A referral to an ultra sound complications clinic may be advised, however Sally is trained in dissolving filler.

How Soon Will I See the Results? Most results are immediate, but over the next few weeks as the filler settles results will continue to improve. Swelling will occur ovee the next few days and distort the sahpe and definition of the lips. Please allow time for the lips to heal which make take a couple of weeks. Allow 2 -3 weeks for lips to heal following lip filler treatment. Lips will be swollen and require time to settle to allow for end result. Tear troughs results improve over 6-8 weeks follwoing treatment.

How Long Does Dermal Filler Last? No one knows how long Dermal Filler lasts. The results vary from person to person. There are many influencing and external factors. Generally, lip filler results last 6 months to a year.

How Long Does Dermal Filler Treatments Take? Getting filler treatment takes anything from 30 to 45 mins.

What Should You Not Do After Dermal Filler Treatment? Staying out of the sun is important. You should also avoid the following: Applying makeup until the following day. You should avoid alcohol, exercise and heat for a few days to prevent as much swelling and bruising as possible. If you have any questions please contact us.

Does having Lip Treatments hurt? Lips are a tender area to treat, so Sally has a couple of options to numb your lips. You can have strong numbing cream applied to your lips, which will make the procedure much more comfortable. Or you can have tiny local anaesthetic injected into the inside of your lips which will make the lips completely numb.
